Lil' Betty Crocker

I slept in super late this morning (which was quite nice, especially since I normally can't stay asleep) and Erin decided it would be nice to cook some "breakfast in bed". When I finally woke up, she was hard at work in the kitchen.

I think I said something in passing to her like, "Don't wipe your hands on your pants." She said, "I'm not!" Busted!

I made her pose for photos.... and as I drew near for a close up of her face, she said, "I don't have flour on my FACE, do I?" Yes ma'am!

Her scones turned out wonderful, especially since it was her first time baking from scratch. She's going to be a powerhouse in the kitchen one day. Our next task: teaching her to wear an apron!

Wow, a real live chef. Although I don't think an apron will help keep food off of her face... ;b

Hmmm... I'm not so sure an apron and a... facemask are appropriate attire for baking! I guess we'll just have to leave the flour on her face. :)

By the way, Justin wants to know why whenever you come to Southern California, you don't call him. He'd be glad to come and meet you guys. Next time you're there, give him a call.

There is a funny story about why we didn't call Justin. I tried! While we were riding on the bus to get to Disneyland, I tried to call him... looked in my phone and realized I don't have his number preset in my phone, but I remembered that he had left me a message that I had saved that had it. So, I listened to it but the kids were noisy so I tried to replay the message - by pushing the 4 key.... but I missed and hit the 7 key, which is the ERASE key! I also realized that I don't have any of your cell phone numbers in my phone. Must remedy that!
